About this deal

In an episode featuring David Letterman, Bey shares a strip-club story that gets the late-night legend to quickly make any excuse to escape the room, but Miracle doesn’t let the audience hear the offending tale.

Jazzy inflections, electronic filigree and stark soundscapes collide elegantly amidst that stentorian voice, and whether or not Bowie put this together as a farewell, he couldn't have done it better if he'd tried. He will always have to answer to his epochal work of the 1970s, the decade in which he dictated several strands of popular and experimental culture, when he made reinvention seem as easy as waking up in the morning. Bowie sings the same song on Blackstar, an album that has him clutching onto remnants from the past as exploratory jazz and the echos of various mad men soundtrack his freefall. No Fear of Time delivers the fast-paced wordplay and dizzyingly busy production you might have expected from the pairing. When we recieved them I thought all of them were BLACK but I just found out when I wanted to ship one, there are 2 copies on CLEAR vinyl (not mentioned on the sticker on seal : LP is sealed). Conversely, on Blackstar, he embraces his status as a no-fucks icon, a 68-year-old with "nothing left to lose," as he sings on "Lazarus.

Also these copies do not have the "✲✲" in the etching that is supposed to differentiate this from the first pressing so,,,,,, I don't think that is correct. You aren’t always fully sure what they’re on about, but it’s nice hearing them bounce ideas off each other again. Kweli and Bey, born Dante Smith, got to know each other in the early ’90s, freestyling in Manhattan’s Washington Square Park and appearing at the same local spoken-word events. He is popular music’s ultimate Lazarus: Just as that Biblical figure was beckoned by Jesus to emerge from his tomb after four days of nothingness, Bowie has put many of his selves to rest over the last half-century, only to rise again with a different guise. s True Magic slipped out without cover art or a traditional CD case in an attempt to get Bey out of his deal with Geffen Records, who acquired the Rawkus catalogue in 2004.

The album features a quartet of brand-new collaborators, led by the celebrated modern jazz saxophonist Donny McCaslin, whose repertoire includes hard bop as well as skittering Aphex Twin covers. But something else happened: Every time the duo linked up after that, fans thirsted anew for a sequel. For once, in front of such greatness, I would not debate too much about technicalities, 1st press 2015 vs 2nds 2016 etc. This sparked further examinations of the artwork by fans, one of whom discovered earlier this week that the cover, when exposed to a blacklight, appears to change the design to fluorescent blue.
