About this deal

It should come as no surprise that the quality of the images that the Galaxy S21 Ultra is capable of capturing are nothing short of exceptional. As with other high-megapixel-count flagships, the S21 Ultra doesn’t capture 108MP images by default – although this can be enabled in the settings – instead taking 12MP pictures in the auto mode. Sitting at the top of Samsung’s new flagship trio, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has everything you could want from a top-end flagship phone, including a gigantic 6.8in screen, a smattering of rear and front-facing cameras, up to 512GB of internal storage and the option to upgrade to a – frankly bonkers – 16GB of RAM. It’s also the first Samsung phone to come with Android 11 pre-installed, and it can record 8K video, just like last year’s Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra review: Price and competition We also tested the screen brightness of the Galaxy S20 Ultra outdoors, and it automatically amps up to a super-bright 1,500 nits when necessary. Other phones with AMOLED screens, including the S21 and S21 Plus, max out at 1,200 nits, and every little bit helps in direct sunlight. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra also has a telephoto lens. This 10-megapixel camera has 3x optical zoom. This is a sensible option for taking pictures of things that are far away, such as a sports event.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is here in the UK and, if you're able to afford it, it's ready to buy on contract (Pay monthly) or Sim-free. The biggest area where Samsung are consistently great at is the display. The 6.8-inch, Dynamic AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution (1.440 x 3.200) is certainly a sight to behold. It has vibrant colours, very high peak brightness, high pixel-per-inch count and a super-smooth refresh rate at 120 Hz. The refresh rate especially makes a massive difference in how responsive the device feels. Combined with the Exynos 2100 chip that powers the device, navigating the UI is just a breeze. The content on display is super sharp too. The 515-PPI display is perfect for high-res multimedia consumption. The Advanced Camera System

The Android King of 2021?

The base-level 128GB of internal storage with 12GB of RAM might not be enough for everyone. You’ll want to either pony up for the version with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, or max out at 256GB of storage with 16GB of RAM. The RAM won’t make much of a difference in a phone, but you’ll definitely notice if you run out of storage space. This is still Samsung’s best screen, but for many other reasons. We found the 6.8-inch body to be easier to grasp than the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max, and that’s in large part thanks to the curved display and overall narrowness of Samsung's device. The curved edges are subtle on the S21 Ultra, and not quite as pronounced as on past Samsung devices, and that means fewer errant presses. The long-awaited verdict to having both? Meh – it’s the best of both worlds, sure, but you won’t see much of a difference between 1080p and Quad HD on a display of this size, and Quad HD will drain your battery faster. Solid Gorilla Glass and the IP68 rating make it all tough while the battery keeps everything going all day with its 5,000 mAh might. This is super fast charging for 50% in 30 minutes and also works wirelessly with Fast Wireless Charging 2.0. That said, while that's the list price, many stores are now selling the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra for less. You can expect the price to continue dropping over time.

Proximity Sensor, Hall Effect Sensor, Light Sensor, Gyroscope Sensor, Accelerometer (G-Sensor), Fingerprint Sensor It includes a huge 108-megapixel lens, which is still top-quality more than two years later. And the rest of the camera array includes a 3x optical telephoto sensor and a 10x optical telephoto sensor. A choice you don’t have to make, however, is whether or not to pay extra for a 5G model. All three phones come with 5G at no additional cost this year and the Galaxy S21 Ultra even supports Wi-Fi 6E connections (the first smartphone to do so), although the number of people likely to have a new 6GHz router at home is vanishingly small right now.The Exynos 2100 is also a big leap over the Exynos 990, which was also a new high-end SoC for the Galaxy S series. The 990 had custom Mongoose cores. What about the software in Galaxy S21 Ultra?

Another improvement is the camera's pixel binning technology. This allows the camera to combine nine pixels into one, which should result in less noise. This should also allow for brighter, clearer photos. The camera set up also includes a 100x 'space zoom' so you can get in closer to action than ever before. Should I get the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra? Welcome amid an economic slowdown, the overhauled look and boost in performance haven't led to a price increase over last year’s S20 Ultra – Samsung has actually made this phone significantly cheaper. Granted, we felt like the first Ultra phone was overpriced, and the S21 Ultra is still mighty expensive – it’s more than the iPhone 12 Pro Max – but Samsung gives you a bit more for the extra cost: a larger, brighter and more capable curved screen, 10x optical camera zoom (vs 2.5x on the iPhone), and stylus support, something Apple has yet to offer on any iPhone.Part of the reason the S21 Ultra seems snappy is the fact that Samsung has further streamlined its software interface. With the OneUI 3.0 interface, menus now throw fewer unnecessary windows in your face before executing what you want to do. Turning on power save mode, for example, makes adjustments immediately. Hang on to your power adapters. Neither the old USB-A nor the new USB-C chargers are included in the box, but you will get all-day battery life. The need for resolutions higher than Full HD among smartphones was being driven by VR headsets – you could see a ‘screen door effect’ at lower resolutions when the pixels were so close to your face. But Samsung, along with the entire mobile industry, seems to have cooled all phone-based VR initiatives. The Galaxy S21 Ultra has the biggest screen of the three new S21 phones, stretching out across 6.8in. It’s one of Samsung’s “Dynamic AMOLED 2x” panels and it now supports 120Hz at the native WQHD+ resolution (1,440 x 3,200) of the panel. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is a decent flagship from the company. It comes with an improved design and improved battery life. It also features better cameras. However, it is still facing stiff competition from rivals. It features a 6.8 inches Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that has a 1440 x 3200 pixels resolution. The rear camera of the smartphone consists of a penta-camera that consists of 108 MP (2nd gen) (wide) + 10 MP (periscope telephoto) 10x optical zoom + 10 MP (telephoto) 3x optical zoom + 12 MP (ultrawide). Let's be blunt. This phone is capable of handling any type of app or game. Its screen has an adaptive refresh rate that provides great performance without draining the battery. The phone's design is also very stylish, making it a great choice for power users. The S21 Ultra is able to record 4K videos at 60 frames per second. It can also shoot 12-bit raw files. This means that the camera can edit the fine details of an image before sending it to your computer. Users have reported various problems with wireless charging - these issues can range from software glitches to hardware failures. In 2021, The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra was the one to go for if you wanted the biggest and best android phone you can get your hands on. It’s the Samsung equivalent to Apple's iPhone 12 Pro Max, which launched a few months prior. Going all the way from the ultra-wide camera at 0.6x to the digitally zoomed-in 30x with usable photos each step of the way is how Samsung stands apart from Apple and its cameras on the iPhone 12 Pro Max (capped at 2.5x optical / 12x digital), and Google’s Pixel 5 (no telephoto). No one (except Huawei) is doing zoom on a smartphone like this in 2021, and your Apple phone-owning friends will have telephoto envy. So, whether you're looking for a battery-only device to enjoy a full day of activity, or a device to get through a short trip, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is one of the best all-rounder phones on the market right now.
