About this deal

The island of Borneo is owned by three countries: Indonesia, which owns seventy-three percent of the island, Malaysia, which owns twenty-six, and the Sultanate of Brunei, which owns one percent. Oud from trees on the actual island of Borneo tends to be different (and superior) to oud from trees on the mainland of Malaysia or Indonesia, regardless of whether the tree comes from an Indonesian-owned or Malaysian-owned part of the island. The characteristics of Borneo-style oud oil are: Many people find the buying of oud anything stressful, partially because of the extra outlay involved and partially because of fears over authenticity. The more money one spends, the higher the expectation of purity. Nobody likes to feel that they are being duped. But a bit of common sense will help steer you in this matter. Oud oil from high-quality, wild Laotian wood is difficult, if not impossible, to source, so most Laotian oils on the market are actually distilled from plantation wood. The oil that is produced by Laotian plantations is plentiful and consistent in quality. Therefore, much of the output is sold directly to the large flavor and aroma factories in France and Switzerland, where it is used in upscale niche perfumery. The characteristics of Laotian oud oil are as follows: Please use only Senti fragrance with your Orchid – it’s been carefully developed to work with this product. Using non-Senti fragrances will void your warranty too.

Both product I just mention have longer longevity compared with the 8 products released 2018. However, they do not last long like Oud Ispahan. Distillers do, however, produce Vietnamese- style oud oils that mimic the characteristics of the original Vietnamese oud, based on memories of how the oil smelled from the time when it was still available to distillers. The characteristics of Vietnamese-style oud are: Papuan ouds are another lush island oud terroir. Papuan ouds are similar in profile to Borneo ouds but feature the following characteristics that set them apart: As with any raw material that is both prized and in short supply, synthetic variants have been developed to replace it. The largest companies responsible for producing synthetics, flavors, and bases for the perfume industry, such as Firmenich and Givaudan, have each developed several high-quality oud oil ‘replacers’ that are used in commercial perfumes to approximate key aspects of the aroma profile of oud oil or oud wood. There are many of these oud synthetics on the market, but here are a few of the most noteworthy or most commonly-used ones.I just can't get any performance out of this fragrance. Even soaking myself with 20 sprays only yields a skin-scent of leather...leaving me smelling like some kinda leather-wearing old biker dude or a BDSM gimp that just finished a suit-session. Lancôme has created really unique work of perfumery art that deserve to be remembered. The only issue with Lancôme is many of their unique work is being discontinued. Some of the products were discontinued over 2, and others over 7 years, yet you find people look for those products or maybe offer to re sell what is left of used bottle with higher price.

Starting with both Purple Oud (PO) and Santal noir (SN). They are both smell differently and i would say they are almost new to dior collection especially PO. Can be a bit loud and overbearing, so skill is required to blend the oil into a composition if using in a commercial perfume This is more of a smooth suede woody fragrance. There is a subtle and smooth-as-silk leather/suede note in this fragrance at the heart. It's there from the spray until it becomes a skin scent. Now...I am not someone that likes "Leather" notes with the exception of two fragrances.... i] http://www.basenotes.net/features/3609-conversations-with-the-artisan-amp-colon-ensar-of-ensar-oud The juice is nasty. When I tried it for the first time, I was like "whooooaaa...nooo..holy cow, it stinks unbearably!".

For the ladies: I'm not a big fan of Tom Ford. I was, when he was still art dirctor at YSL where he launched the amazing M7 frag for men and created the beautiful bottle. In 2005 he left and created his own brand (what else of a self proclaimed egomaniac) called: 'Tom Ford'. Cashing in on his supposed 'sex symbol' status for the ladies, he posed sedutively on a cover of Vanity Fair, where he sat clothed between an totally naked Scarlett Johansen and Keira Knightly. Although he is 100% and now openly gay. Sorry ladies.

Having just bought this and worn it for a few days now (perfect weather in the UK just now - Spring Snow :o) ) I get dry, powdery, citrus, Oud and a hint of Vanilla. It's not unpleasant but I'm not leaping to celebrate it either. It's a bit weird. A sort of Jekyll & Hyde it's like two quirky personalities spliced together in the same bottle - sweet, fruity, fresh citrus aromatic for one and the other a dry, earthy (patchouli), woody (Oud) oriental. It kinda works but also kinda doesn't. I shall live with it a bit longer and see if it improves with some more time to macerate in the bottle and a dark cupboard. Thai oils are A. Crassna oils with a similar profile to Cambodi-style oils but with less of the bright, jammy fruit of Cambodi oils and more of the metallic, funky sourness of oils from Vietnam and India. Thailand has many plantations of Aquilaria trees and therefore plentiful wood. Accordingly, Thai oud oils are simply called Thai ouds rather than Thai- style ouds. I feel confident when I wear this because I know this scent will create an awesome scent memory with whoever encounters me. And as a man of color, this fragrances smells like it was made for me. Fill your Orchid vase with 250ml of the enclosed Senti fragrance, using the funnel provided. Please note, our fragrance contains ethanol, which can damage wooden and fabric surfaces — so please be careful and fill away from anything precious.

Its true I wasn’t clear when I said 1947, in which I meant the start point was at that time, but also there is a perfume was created and called new look 1947. “ reflects classic , antique smell”. It has its own costumers. So far, it's the worst perfume I ever smelled. The long list of the notes, that are listed here, is impressive, but there is no complexity it this perfume, just cacophony. Oh yes, and there is something sweaty in drydown that comes up like a final unpleasant surprise. Boy... this is STRONG! This fragrance just makes me think of bakhoor in the opening and then dries down to the smell of a man who hasn't bathed for days smoking cigarettes on his leather couch. It is a very smoky, dirty and dusty smell to me and it doesn't smell clean or pleasant to me at all. I wish I got more of the zesty and sweet orange to freshen this up more and maybe some added neroli or orange blossom would have been nice too? I just personally don't understand why anyone would want to smell like this. I also couldn't get much of the pink pepper at all, other than small whiffs here and there. The oud just took over everything... It could be beautiful, should be beautiful, but I just would never ever wear it. So, sadly, not for me.

There are literally no other notes in this frag that exist past the 3-minute mark. I get maybe a little lavender-smelling something in the first 3 minutes of the fragrance...after that it's cinnamon-leather until I take a shower to get this mess off me. Repeat the above process once every 3 days – please don’t turn more regularly than that, as overdosing your Orchid may result in drips of fragrance escaping.
