Evidence produced at the time of the Great Plague gives us useful information about what people did to try and prevent the plague from spreading. Some actions taken by the government included:

One of these measures required families to bury their own members who had died of plague, while another saw church services relocated to outdoor spaces, so that churchgoers could be kept apart. The whole village was placed into quarantine to try and contain the outbreak.

Tse took a 35-month sentence as the starting point for each defendant, deducting from it on account of their guilty plea and their age to arrive at two years. The students were between 18 and 21 at the time of the incident. ‘Martyr’ motion London was not the only place in England to suffer an outbreak of the plague. One of the worst affected locations beyond London was Eyam, a village in Derbyshire. Kwok, then the union’s president, raised the motion to mourn Leung. He also compared the incident to the death of Marco Leung, a man who unfurled a protest banner before falling from height from Pacific Place mall in Admiralty during the protests and unrest in 2019.
