This is a great quality star projector for any space fan. We were dubious how good this star projector would be, as historically, novelty-shaped star projectors are pretty disappointing. There is a timer function that you can set for the projector to turn off after 15, 30 or 60 minutes. If you don't select one, the device will auto-power off after two hours. For us, this is a little short. If you wanted to project this alongside a sci-fi film for example it wouldn't last the duration. We'd prefer four hours as a minimum. This is a great tool to introduce children to the topic of space exploration, as well as the constellations. Reviewers love this machine for its multiple domes and slides, as well as its included educational booklet.

Looking for a star projector for educational purposes? This easy-setup projector is an excellent intro to the cosmos for ages eight and up. It has interchangeable parts, including three slide discs, each with eight images to switch up the viewing experience. Those discs carry photographs of spacecraft, astronauts, and nebulae, all provided by NASA and the Hubble Telescope. Of the sub-100 ones I have seen, this had the most striking detail projected on ceiling. I also like its angle and focus controls. Most star projectors will have a sleep timer — we look for how many options for the sleep timer duration you have and whether it is effective and reliable.
