About this deal

They have become known as the UK's favourite entertainers, and together form the ultimate musical duo: Michael Ball and Alfie Boe never fail to raise spirits with their unique combination of powerful voices and tongue-in-cheek charm, even when the chips are down. Today the perfect pair announce that they have joined forces yet again for a brand new album, set for release on 28th October on Decca Records. All in All, my lambs, Michael Ball & Alfie Boe - TOGETHER IN VEGAS was a fine listening feast and is an album to return to over and over again, as the years go by. Along with just great earworms, it would be AWESOME housework music, so we give this one a really nice...

The collection of songs was a pleasure to work through. The theme being Las Vegas, it includes a Franki Valli and a Tom Jones medley, plus songs such as The Gambler, Sway and American Trilogy by Elvis. With live big band musicians, and a dynamic, powerful production, this album is truly joyous to listen (and dance away) to. As we all know, Las Vegas really is the entertainment capital of the world and, hopefully, we can bring a little bit of that magic to you through this album."

For their fifth studio album together, Michael & Alfie take us to The Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas. They are 'Together In Vegas'. Armed with all the charisma and panache needed for such an excursion, together with suitably dazzling vocal skills, the couple present the most exciting music they have ever recorded together. For their fifth studio album together, Michael & Alfie take us to The Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas. Michael Ball and Alfie Boe have both received countless prestigious awards, record-breaking sales, and chart successes. A particular highlight occurred in 2020 when Michael released the fastest-selling single of the year with his No.1 duet with the late Captain Tom Moore. Over Michael’s extraordinary 30-year career, his outstanding performances have also made smash-hit box office history. He is a double Olivier Award winner, multi-platinum and chart-topping recording artist, top selling live concert performer, a hugely popular radio and TV presenter and now author. Later this year Michael releases his debut novel, ‘The Empire’, the first in a series set in the world of theatre. With Alfie adding: “ Playing Vegas has always been a dream of mine and finally it’s becoming a place I'm performing and spending more time in. Making the latest Ball and Boe record Vegas-themed was exciting to us for many reasons. There is an energy in Vegas that lights up in a way nowhere else does, and it felt like the perfect moment in time to bring that energy into our new album. It’s a chance to let go and have some fun, especially after a pandemic, and it’s important for our incredible fans to feel that excitement with us. Everyone is in need of a bit of Vegas in their lives right now!”

MB: You only realise what you’ve lost when it’s gone. Theatre gives you an opportunity to laugh, to cry, to share emotions with a group of strangers in a dark room. It’s really healthy and really cathartic. But you have to keep reminding people that you’ll miss this if it’s no longer there and it’ll only remain as long as you invest in it. That goes for the government as well: invest in it. Following the success of their UK top 3 album Together in Vegas last month the UK's biggest-selling male recording duo Michael Ball and Alfie Boe head out, for a one-off TV special, to discover the wonders of the world's entertainment capital Las Vegas. Airing on Channel 5 on December 21st at 10:15PM GMT, ' Michael Ball & Alfie Boe Do Vegas' sees Alfie Boe take Vegas first timer Michael Ball to explore what makes the city a magnet for millions of tourists every year. Inspired by Alfie's momentous two-day concert event at the legendary International Theatre at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino this summer, the decision to record such iconic repertoire was an easy one for both singers. MB: It’s interesting. The death knell has been sounded for live performances and theatre since I’ve been in the business. The thing about the talent that works in the theatre is that it’s creative, adaptable, determined, and we always find a way to survive. Through history, when things are tough, you need an outlet. There is an energy in Vegas that lights up in a way nowhere else does, and it felt like the perfect moment in time to bring that energy into our new album.

As Michael thrusts his hands in the air and sings "Reach for the stars…" Alfie groans, "I’m not doing that again" and then, of course, joins in, complete with hands aloft. Their double act has enraptured crowds with warm, low-key charisma and deft stagecraft” Independent MB: It’s just drudgery otherwise. We do it better than anyone in the world. It’s a vital part of our identity. It’s just positive, and we need positives, especially at the moment. But I know it’s hard. If you’ve got a choice between paying your heating bill and going to see a pantomime, you know what you’re going to do. That just shouldn’t be a choice you have to make. MB: When Alfie was showing me around, in the wings, they’ve obviously over time re-floored the whole place but there’s one square that they’ve left because it was the spot where Elvis would stand to get into the zone before every performance. And there was a real frisson. You think, bloody hell, this is where he stood before going out and doing his thing. For me the attraction of the album and of Vegas itself is that heritage. Following in the footsteps of those incredible artists. The best did it there. Elvis Presley live in Las Vegas in 1975. Michael says: "We’re on an even par, both rubbish, wouldn’t you say?" before Alfie cuts in: "I’m far better than you." AB: And it also feeds other businesses like bars, restaurants, taxi drivers. It creates a lot of work for a lot of people. Alfie's performance in Baz Luhrman's 2002 Broadway production of La Boheme won him a group cast Tony Award. Everyone is in need of a bit of Vegas in their lives right now!"Well, here's a teaming about which (until this week, when their latest album landed on Bobby's desk) we were totally unaware. Did you know that Michael Ball and Alfie Boe were a singing team, my darlings? This is news that had escaped little Bobby's ears completely... and are we ever sad about the time it has taken us to make this discography discovery. Let us begin where Bobby has begun, with Michael Ball & Alfie Boe TOGETHER IN VEGAS, a studio album (their FIFTH!) of classics from legendary artists such as Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Frankie Valli - all Vegas Icons who made legendary concert appearances and recordings in Sin City. On the face of it, one would not think that Boe (with his fully, heavy-lifting, trained operatic va-voom) would be a logical match to Ball's more pop-ish va-va-Broadway, but together they are really va-va-va-voom. Speaking of the new album, Michael says: "Working on this album with Alfie has been a blast and I can't wait for you all to hear it. I honestly think it's the best one yet! Recording classics from legendary artists such as Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Frankie Valli, who are not only huge inspirations to us, but true Las Vegas icons, is an absolute dream.
