About this deal

I get a heavy juicy pineapple at top. Then it goes into a spicy mid. I do not know why I get the pepper in the mid not the top (perhaps it merges with the patchouli? The base is heavy with the vanilla, amber, woods (it comes off as sandalwood to my nose) and some benzoin. The base has a powdery and spicy vanilla undertone, not sweet or gourmand. A warm amber serves to create a sense of cosiness. The initial burst of balmy skin undertones transforms into a tamed powdery skin. No talcum powder from iris or violet leaves, but a coumarin dustiness. The oud is now just a memory that slowly fades away. The pineapple is weirdly familiar in a way I've never experienced. My favourite fragrance in my small but growing collection is Lamar by Kajal - that fragrance is miles better than this in almost every way, but the two fragrances aren't trying to do the same thing. But where Qaed Al Fursan impressed me a few seconds after first spraying it was the 'realistic' nature of the pineapple. Synthetic, yes, but there is no second guessing what citrus or fruit you're smelling - it's pineapple. Like store bought pineapple juice, but in a pleasant way, where the wood notes ground it and stop it from being cloying. It's 'pineapple with woods' and not 'woods with pineapple' in the way Hacivat is.

I feel like this is probably best used layered with something that's a lot woodier, like maybe CDNIM. Whilst I now understand what everyone is on about with the sweet pineapple note, I can confirm it's not for me. I have to retract my previous review which was written after wearing in a sterile AC'd environment. In the heat of summer, this stuff turned into a straight up yankee candle on my skin. Yankee candle vanilla plus intense nuclear, scratchy, oudy, trigeminal-sensation-causing norlimbinal in the base makes this a chore to wear. I have grown to detest these norlimbanol perfumes for some reason (which is both weird and funny, because I love all sorts of blatantly synthetic aromachemicals including the trendy akigalawood) and this one has just as much as the previous worst offender: Frank Olivier Oud Touch. Asad announces its presence with unapologetic sillage, capable of making a statement in any setting. However, it isn't all about strength. The dry-down is where Asad truly sings — a blend of amber and vanilla rounds out the experience, softening the earlier intensity into a creamy, sophisticated finish that lingers pleasantly. Very nice for the low price. The fakemetal stuff could be omitted, then the design would be much better. I base my impressions and review on a bottle I have owned since December 2022 (BC M05-22070075, PD 07.2022)I seriously don’t know how Lattafa supposedly cloned Sauvage Elixir with whole different and unrelated notes! Makes me think they lie a lot about their notes.

SIGHT: The Sun by Edvard Munch. Wheatfield with Reaper and Sun by Vincent Van Gogh. Sunflower New Mexico 1935 by Georgia O'Keeffe. Michelle Williams. Goldie Hawn. Monarch butterfly. The opening lasts just long enough for me, and when the woody notes begin to settle in, I’m just overjoyed by the luxury that this fragrance exudes. It’s a really nice balance between playful and serious. I enjoy the term “eastern fragrances for western noses” because that perfectly sums this one up for me. I wouldn’t recommend it for any one season over another, but so far this summer, I’m getting great-ish performance if I don’t work up too much of a sweat. On days where I have spent my time in A/C controlled environments, I would get whiffs of myself in the air, and the pineapple note sings a little harmony under the creamy, just almost smoky and mildly spicy woods. Great sharing ‘lad/ladette/non-binary’ Ibiza/Mykonos/Gran Canaria clubbing type holiday scent… smells expensive so date night friendly too… great GOTH scent as well…. So literally anyone… if you like spice you’ll like this. Nice box, Heavy ‘Meh’ bottle.

There's a smokiness to it that you find in a lot of masculine fruit scent profiles. I wouldn't wear this in the winter, it'd be annoying. I'm envisioning the wet, rainy version of this scent and it's not good. I think this could be nauseating in the summer. Probably a spring time scent but your mileage may vary. Al Fursan is a more traditional compact glass bottle with gold accents and a magnetic cap (similar to Sauvage). Sprayers are fine on both - they spray a short but wide puff of juice. I bought both Qaed Al Fursan and Lattafa Rave Now, and they smell almost identical. Rave now has a little more ripe pineapple and Al Fursan is little more syrupy sweet, but they're very similar. Get whichever is cheaper or whichever bottle you like more - no point in getting both in my opinion.

Either way, they're both great. Amazing juicy pineapple opening with some sexy spices and sweetness. This is AMAZING. It's for when you want to wear Sauvage EDT but to somewhere where you'd have to dress a little bit better like a high end club or a fancy dinner party. Man, Lattafa hasn't had a single miss in the 12 blind buy haul I received last week. Even the ones incompatible with my olfactory preferences were good performers with good ingredients.Buy Qaa’ed Al Shabaab 100ml Perfume! Explore a range of Arabian Oud fragrances at E&A Distribution.
