About this deal

Eww that sounds wrong!!!! I cringe at myself, but that’s what I get for trying to be clever with my intro.

Dammit, Georgie. You had to be exactly what I need, didn’t you?”
I love the illustrated cover trend, but I have to start this review by saying that the cover of Fix Her Up doesn’t quite match the story. I thought I was jumping into an uber cute rom-com, and though this did have some cute and fun moments, it was a bit emotional and a crazy hot brothers best friend story.I kept thinking “wow, this is the worst book I have ever read/listened to” it’s contrived and has terrible dialogue.

Okay, I love this author, so reading this book was a no brainer. But did you get the fake relationship part in that blurb? With an unrequited crush? Oh, yes, I needed to read this one. AND I wasn't disappointed. the sex scenes were ... an adventure. in general, they weren't too bad, the best one is probably is still the first one (at least they do the do in the bed). all of them are rather ridiculous instead of steamy, but to be honest, i have read worse. The main female character is Georgie, a woman defined by her virginity, her clown career, and her unexplained crush on her brother's bestie Travis. When Travis sees her with the haircut, and that same day while maybe slightly, side-ways hugging her, he gets hard. The first in a spicy, hilarious HGTV-inspired romantic comedy trilogy from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Happened One Summer and Hook, Line, and Sinker!the ridiculous emphasis placed on georgie’s virginity makes this feel like an early 2000s book, except it was written in 2019 lol there are already so many little things that don't sit right w/ me in this book, and after that first sex scene...i gotta go. Her sister Bethany is vain and says rude things without thinking. Basically her whole personality is fashion. I do genuinely like how she decided she wanted to take a more serious role in her family's house flipping company, but when she was making rude comments every other time she spoke, it was hard to root for her. She also got offended when Georgie pointed out that they didn't have a great relationship. It was hard to feel bad for her. When you are first introduced to Travis and Georgie, you do not expect the scene that you read. That's how Tessa bring the BAM to the beginning of the story. Known from their childhood, and been neighbors who live in Long Island (which is where I am from **squeals**), and grew apart because of their own differences. Travis becoming a professional baseball player, whom throughout out ends up getting injured and his career comes to an end. Georgie has known him since she was little, the youngest sister of Travi's best friend Steven. Always running around and following them as a child. She always attended all his games, Travis' biggest cheerleader, Georgie became enamored by him. To him, Georgie has always been Steven's little sister that no one pays attention to. But after one hangover morning, Travis' perspective towards her changes in the best of way. She is now all grown up, has bought her own house, is a clown for a living... YUP! You read that correctly, one of my favorite female characters of 2019 is a CLOWN FOR A LIVING!
