One of my favorites elements is how protective Rhaim is of Lisane, he gives off total "touch her and I'll kill you" vibes! While this first installment focuses on slow burn, readers can look forward to plenty of angst, a mentor x student dynamic, some dom/sub kinks and a taste of the more intense things to come.

I'm currently 60% in and enjoying every moment of the forced proximity and slow burn between the protagonists.Despite the things I’ve mentioned above, there’s an understanding that grows with each passing day between Rhaim and Lisane. En het is kinky shit and the line between this book and rape is thin, but never really crossed (thankfully). I think that the reader can discover the complex characters and their motivations throughout the whole novel.

Do not be deceived by the title, its much more deep and detailed and incredibly interesting than I bet you are thinking! The very thing my father had been afraid of for me for my whole life—and the reason I lived in a gilded cage, only getting to leave the palace when I had throne-sworn mages by my side—had apparently happened. She danced for me, beneath my onslaught, prancing like the proudest pony might, tossing her head as her ass swayed beautifully. Bend Her: A Dark Beauty and the Beast Fantasy Romance is the story of Rhaim the All-Beast, a cruel beast mage doomed to die at the hands of the woman he must protect at all costs, and Lisane, the sheltered Princess of Tears, who has been given into his care and who needs him to teach her magic so she can be free—no matter how much it might hurt her. These training sessions are random, most happening because Rhaim says he needs to know he can trust her before teaching magic… which to me is a really unusual way to figure that out. But we hit the ground running entirely too hard for me to really believe from the beginning that the MMC would be able to transform into a person I was able to like - especially with the number of pages the author had to make it happen. I really enjoyed the important role of mages in this story, as well as the political intricacies of the kingdoms.
