About this deal

At times, it almost feels like a tabletop RPG, and like many RPGs, it can live and die on the Game Master.

Of course, like almost all detective board games, each case can only be solved once, so replayability is limited, but with nine mysteries in the base game and two expansions offering four more cases each, you’ll have a lot of content before the game runs dry.If we don’t have a game you are looking for it please contact us and we will do our best to help you.

The "default" mode is competitive, in which several players are able to temporarily hoard evidence, bribe each other to see those hidden cards, and listen in on private conversations with witnesses. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Each provides a new experience for the detectives who will use any means necessary to catch the killer (or culprit. The unforgiving consequences of an interrogation gone bad ensured every question felt tense and every clue proved vital. The reason being is the circle will single the question was asked, and then a player can be an X in it if they challenged or asked a question with leveraged. It’s then up to the detective to deduce whether that suspect is telling the truth or deliberately misleading them. If players pass they do nothing, and players that bribed pay three money and get to see the response to the question that was asked. They will place these face down after choosing, or they have to pass if they do not have enough money to snitch. While most players act as homicide detectives willing to do whatever it takes to close a case, one player will be the Chisel, whose only goal is to stall and misdirect them. Just know that there is a limited number of cases, and you'll have to make choices about how to experience them.

Since most crimes are Suspect, Weapon, and Motive, it means that a player must identify a suspect that they have knowledge of, have found and identified the murder weapon, and choose a motive found on the back of detective casebook. By keeping the game fun for the players, and trying to make sure that no one detective gets too much edge on the others, you can make Detective: City of Angels a truly magical experience for the people who are playing it. Detectives can challenge responses that they think are lies but at great risk: If they’re wrong, The Chisel will acquire leverage over them, making the case that much harder to solve. Detective City of Angels uses the innovative ARC (Adaptive Response Card) System to create the feel of interrogating a suspect. The only issue with not correctly solving the case is the Detective must wait until the last day is over to try to guess again during the "Final Guess".In truth, this is really for a solo play as it involves asking questions and using the Sleuth Casebook which is just a book field with responses to questions being asked. Goon- If the Chisel uses leverage against a Detective to block a question, the Detective can spend two scratch to force the suspect to answer.

I love detective games in general, but this one might be my favorite yet (although I will always be a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective ). What's good about this game is that it could be played solo to enjoy the experience and then It could be played with the knowledgeable player as the chisel with more people so at least double the chance of playing. If they wish to move to another district, one move action is used to move them to a boarder between two districts, and then another move action is spent to move into that new district. The good-natured bickering that results from racing your friends to solve a mystery makes game night extra wonderful. They will read the case that was chosen to play for the game as the Chisel casebook explains who committed the crime. Detective- This allows one Detective to give two scratch to another detective to look at a lettered case card that the Detective has a knowledge marker on.
