About this deal

Crop-A-Dile Big Bite Blue is the enhanced version of the Crop-A-Dile, reaching up to 6 inches, so you can punch and put eyelets anywhere in your papers and albums.

Personalised advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of information under California and other state privacy laws, and you may have a right to opt out. However, if you use your eyelets to hold embellishments like tags or flowers on to your card front then you might want a longer reach. Some months back, there was a thread where people listed their top ten favorite tools and many people put a Crop-A-Dile on that list. You could make a box where you put the ribbon inside and don’t use dowels, like those squishy clear ribbon boxes with the holes all over it. Easily punch through almost any material, even thick bookboard, then set eyelets, snaps or any embellishment in your project. it is still possible as you can see in the above photo where I stamped a backgrounder stamp and then embellished the design with eyelets. I love this tool, I loved the original but due to my dexterity issues did find spanning the two handles difficult.

For punching through thicker layers, though, I think I probably do hold it properly for extra leverage. One thing I changed was I bought foam board (comes covered in tons of colors to match the photo boxes) to cut out inserts and hot glued them on the inside ends for the dowels to sit in. The wild success of the Crop-a-dile from We R Memory Keepers has prompted a new release from this company, the Crop-a-dile 2 Big Bite.I have only the Big Bite because even though I'm a card maker, I wanted to be able to put an eyelet or punch a hole anywhere and so needed the longer throat.

This exclusive new model is presented in a case with golden handle and transparent frame with golden spots. Features a 6" punching reach that allows you to punch and set the accents at the center of your 12" x 12" pages. Making sure the bits are at the correct setting was a challenge on the original and is the same design here. I personally try to keep the inside of my card from clean or relatively so, so I don't put eyelets all the way through the the embellie and the card front.

You can use the Big Bite to punch through paper, of course, but also leather, fabric, plastic, thin tin, chipboard and lots more. I also find it great for punching holes in ribbon for putting a brad through - with ribbon like grosgrain or twill it's easier than trying to make a good hole with a knife blade. Features a 6 Punching reach that allows you to PUNCH and set the accents at the centre of your 12 x 12 pages. I know that when I tried out the mini blind tutorial, I was so glad to have the CAD - I wouldn't have enjoyed having to punch all those holes one a time, but the CAD went straight through the whole pleated blind. But if you wish to travel with the tool then the dedicated box will give the tool more protection as it will stop it rattling around.
