And in true Kristen writing, she gave us characters dealing with real life struggles and mental health issues that everyone can relate to. And let's not even talk about the drama and the "plot twist" that happened out of nowhere at 90% of this book.

While James looks stern and unfriendly, Nix soon sees the grief he’s been living with and the reason behind his demeanour. Beautiful writing, amazing characters, and a story that I couldn’t help relating with in more ways than one. Kristen Granata will always be a favourite author of mine for many reasons, but especially because her books are so powerful and I connect with each of her characters in one way or another.
