The poem is read or recited in numerous Christmas films, including Prancer (1989), National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989), The Santa Clause (1994), Reindeer Games (2000), and Falling for Christmas (2016). It’s already been around for 200 years and will be around for years and decades to come as it is a tale that never gets old. Jackson, a professor emeritus at the University of Auckland and a fellow at the Royal Society of New Zealand, authored a book in 2016, Who Wrote "The Night Before Christmas"?

But this children’s book, whilst still having the originally poem as the story, has been beautifully illustrated by Robert Dunn.
