About this deal

It’s a nearly breathless commentary as Selick pumps out an enormous amount of information, much of it unique to the track, though some of it spills over into the featurettes. All told by a master storyteller who succeeds in creating a character you can root for and situations that will keep you gripped.

Now it’s up to Coraline to figure a way out of the monster’s lair, and get back to her OWN reality, as boring as it may seem to her. an awkward but resourceful young boy who, along with a stray black cat (Keith David), follows her around. The work done here on this 4K UHD disc shows what a difference the platform can make even to the newest of Blu-ray editions – when time and consideration are taken into effect (as is the case here with Shout Factory’s work).Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. Directed by Henry Selick, who wrote the screenplay based on Neil Gaiman's 2002 young-peoples' best seller. The material on this site may not be reproduced, distributed, transmitted, cached or otherwise used except with the prior written permission of The Digital Bits, Inc. Coraline delivers a brand new 2160p UHD 4K transfer with Dolby Vision HDR and it looks the best it ever has.

Part of what makes Gaiman’s novels special is the voice and adroit dry wit he brings to not just the real world but the world’s magic. Weird Al" Yankovic and Eric Appel, Andy Garcia, Lance Henriksen, Bruce Robinson, Stephen Hopkins, Akiva Goldsman, Shane Mahan, Brian Henson and Rockne O'Bannon with Adam Savage.Their past collaboration on this very movie was wonderful, but somehow they managed to upgrade the video even more with HDR in 4K. I actually have to agree, and with this said, it is definitely not one for those under the age of about 8 or 9, or if you/your child is sensitive, or easily scared. The bait and switch genre bump might be a problem if taken as just that, but the gorgeous animation and clever digital cinematography really do sell the thing.

I watched Coraline back in 2010 when I got my Epson 1080p projector and remember being blown away by it. Not creepy exactly (okay, the mangy cat is kind of creepy), but certainly delightfully odd, if at times too macabre for young children. In this week's episode of THE ARKHAM SESSIONS, we begin our analysis of X-MEN: THE ANIMATED SERIES' first season. They delivered a stop motion masterpiece of an experience that also successfully utilized the fad new wave of 3D technology sweeping through theaters. A side-by-side comparison of the mouse circus scene and the level of detail between the 4K and Blu-Ray is made clear. You can only watch these all at once rather than one at a time and as each has an introduction from the director it does get a bit repetitive. Right off the bat, the sound effects and score make an astounding presence that feels more immersive and louder than the last outing on Blu-ray. Covering all aspects from voice acting to puppet making and puppet costumes and how stop motion animation works this is very interesting viewing and well worth a look.
