About this deal

When drawing a card from the draw pile, the player can choose to replace one of own face-down cards with that card, or put the drawn card directly into the discard pile. Since you could draw a nine (and really hurt your score for the round), you always want to get rid of any power cards you know you have (since it is quite risky to rely on a random draw).

If a "Draw 2" card is drawn, the player then draws another card from the draw pile and may use this card as if it were a normal turn. The goal of the game is to have the lowest points, and that can prove difficult when you can’t see your cards! I might take a stab at creating a computer simulation that can be easily customized with different numbers of players, different player strategies, and possibly different rule sets (children's variant where the outermost cards are public information, and perhaps a reverse of the normal rules where the outermost cards are only known to player whose hand they are in, but the innermost cards are known to every other player). To support the blog and keep it free for all users, Geeky Hobbies utilizes various affiliate programs to earn commissions. If they discard a '5' though we know that the card that they kept was less than or equal to 5 and their 5 was most likely their highest value card (discarding the highest known card, or an unknown card if the difference between the known card and kept is less than the AVG difference between an unknown card and kept card is optimal play. Now you will know what you have, or you can refresh your memory if you have forgotten what you have. However, since there aren’t a lot of mechanics I could see the game becoming somewhat stale and boring after awhile for adult gamers. Power Cards have no point value, and they must be replaced by a card drawn from the draw pile at the end of the round. Not Parent Approved is an award-winning fill-in-the-blank game that will have your entire family in stitches. If we track exactly which cards are being discarded, and each card that is kept we can gain extra information about our opponents.

It would also depend upon what happens when all remaining players lose at the same time (all players have 100+ points). If a player elects to grab the card from the discard pile, they MUST use it to replace one of their cards (either one of the two outer cards which they know the value of or one of the two unknown middle cards). That player needs to shout ‘ Rat a Tat Cat’ to end the game and force everyone to count their 4 face-down cards to get a score. If a player picks up a card, then they must either discard it immediately, use it to replace a card face down in their line of 4, or if it’s a power card then players can use it.

The game may also be played such that when a player exceeds a certain points total, either the game ends immediately and the winner for the fewest points total is declared or that player is eliminated and the game continues until one player remains and is declared the winner. Be forewarned: There is abundant potty humor in this one, but that is why your children won’t be able to resist it. A popular one is setting a score where players bust if they reach it across multiple rounds and get eliminated from the game. We cannot rely on this information since a player may not be playing optimally, but it should be the best move in most games. Any revealed action cards at the end of the round are put into the discard pile and replaced with drawn number cards from the draw pile. With the ability to choose the number of dice to roll each turn, you’ll quickly learn learn that sometimes your choices will pay off, and other times, your best laid plans may be thwarted by an unlucky roll!
