About this deal

To get hard and solid joints using DANSAND TOP LOCK/Polymeric, it is important to follow the instructions on the bag carefully.

This means that the plaster may absorb salts from the filling sand, leading to efflorescence which cannot be washed off. LONG LASTING - Invest a little less energy into maintaining your paths, patios and drives ways and a little more time enjoying them! Top Lock is also buff coloured, although hardens to lock your paving stones in place, whilst still allowing water to drain freely. With over 15 years of professional experience installing block paved drives, patios and footpaths, you’d better believe that our team has tried their fair share of jointing compounds. The NO GROW mixture consists of washed and dried silica sand as well as nutrient-poor minerals with a high pH value.I always do this now as a matter of course, it stops the salts coming out and frost damage etc, etc. Fortunately the very heavy Dansand pack was delivered by a well built strong chap who carried it to rear of the house for us, as it would have been impossible for us to move it to the garden area. It is therefore important that you filled your joints in a height of 4 cm when you first applied DANSAND® NO GROW™ in 2021.

Having jet washed it a few weeks ago and spreading this sand into the grooves (by brush) it appears to be doing what it says on the tin. Dansand® joint filler is made entirely from silica sand, natural high pH minerals and a natural binding agent.Though its natural weed-inhibiting abilities are great for regular use, it will struggle in block-paved patios that experience excessive weed growth.

I bought this as I don’t want to have to do as much patio maintenance, i still had to bend over and pull grass out.

If you do not compact the filling material with the use of a vibrating plate, the filling material will subside in the joint, and you will need to refill the joints after a short period of time. The amount of sand in the joints will gradually reduce over time due to rain or traffic on the paving – particularly if the joints are too wide. Sure, you may need to re-sand the joints every two years as the vibrations from cars or heavy footfall may loosen them over time, but with such a simple brush in application, you’ll have this job done in no time at all! There’s also the benefit of Dansand No Grow’s natural weed-preventing abilities to account for, meaning you won’t need to fork out on a coat of patio sealer to fully protect your paving from unwanted organic pests and moss growth. Dansand are a bit coy about how it works saying 'Dansand® joint filling sand consists primarily of common quartz sand from Denmark and sustainable natural minerals that give a high pH value.
