About this deal

The Pro 2 has a maximum load capacity of 100kg and weighs 14.2kg . Approved for road traffic, it is therefore useful for long distances or daily commuting. The 474 Wh battery is quite powerful and provides a range of up to 28 mph - much longer than that of similar models like the M365 and 1S. However, by keeping the maximum speed constant, the range is reduced to about 18 miles, which is still sufficient for home-work commuting. The battery takes between 8 and 9 hours to fully charge. Fast as a Bicycle Xiaomi is usually precise about the specs of their scooters, and the scooter delivers on the promised top speed without any issues, often even for riders that are approaching the weight limit (as long as the battery is reasonably full).

They are equipped with lithium batteries without memory effect, providing a capacity of 446Wh and delivering good autonomy compared to similar models. The NIU KQi3 Pro may not have that sleek and lightweight design that seems to have been the very first marker of an excellent electric scooter. What this impressive model does offer is much more important: comfort. It's also surprisingly, amazingly affordable – more affordable than other premium e-scooters with less features.

A top-notch braking system is very, very important for your safety. Some of the best e-scooters have a simple braking system while a few of the more robust ones come with a dual one, which is much more reliable and safer for riders. That's especially if you live in a hilly area. There are ways to customize the firmware of the Pro 2 and tweak it to perform in the way you want it to. You should know that this process may damage your scooter and void your warranty. They look practically the same, with some minor differences. The Pro 2 has fewer red elements, and has the new yellow reflector lights, which are a small plus. The weight and the volume of the scooter make the scooter easy to carry and handle by pretty much any adult. The scooter will easily fit in public transport, car trunks, doors, small office spaces, narrow hallways, and pretty much everywhere you need to carry it or store it. Weight limit

Before we go any further, it is important to make it clear that e-scooters are classified as Personal Light Electric Vehicles (PLEVs) and illegal to use in the UK unless on private land or as part of an authorised rental scheme. However, e-scooters are legal in most other European countries and further afield, and with new green policies being drawn up by the government daily, this law may undergo a change soon. The whole of the scooter is tough and sturdy, made from high-quality aerospace-grade aluminum alloy. On the touch, it gives off a feel of reliability. The engineering remains largely the same as in the previous model (why change a winning team?). The finishing touches and the attention to detail, while not at the same level as premium scooters, still greatly exceed the expectations of budget owners. The cables are, for the most part, placed inside the stem, which is always good for aesthetics, carrying, and waterproofing. The scooter runs quietly, and the motor makes a gentle humming sound that’s almost impossible to hear. There is no rattling, wobbling, or any unusual sounds coming from the scooter. The Xiaomi Pro 2 arrives in a nice branded Xiaomi box, with all the necessary protective covering around all the parts. In Europe, the box will probably have the Russian word for electric scooter inscribed on it (Электросамокат), so if you don’t understand Russian, no need to worry, you’ve gotten the original scooter.

The 2W main LED headlight on the top of the stem points down at a slight angle, and lights up the road ahead for about 5-6 meters. There’s also a red brake light on the rear fender that’s turned on when you brake. Both of them are quite strong, which makes the scooter safe for riding at night. Safety features include front and rear LED lights, reflectors, and electric E-ABS brakes on the front wheel, along with double disc brakes on the rear wheel.

Street Approved Electric Scooter

The simplicity and ease-of-use that Xiaomi practically established for the rest of the scooter world, continues to be a trademark in this new model as well, so the Pro 2 is perfect for beginners, first-time owners, and entry-level scooterists. However, if you already own a M365 Pro, we wouldn’t recommend trading it in for a Pro 2 just yet. Yes, there are some nice safety additions such as reflectors and stronger lights and other extras but, on the whole, I don’t feel it’s enough to justify the upgrade of what is essentially the same e-scooter.

Urban commuters typically prioritize weight and portability over power, especially if they live in a city that's mostly flat and with good roads. Consider top speed as well – although do consider the e-scooter rules in your city, state, or country. The LCD screen is fairly bright and has a strong contrast, so it’s not difficult to read even on brighter days. Naturally, build, weather-proofing, and wheel size are to be considered as well. Features are important too. Depending on your needs, you might need things like app support and an anti-theft system. Which brand of electric scooter is best?
